Retrieve the File Menu

- If your in Windows Explorer windows or in Internet Explorer you can get back the old menu by hitting the ALT key.
- If your in any Windows Office applications, hitting ALT will change shortcut keys over the existing menu which will let you access any of those functions from the keyboard.
How to Turn Off User Account Controls

Just remember that you are removing a level of security by disabling User Account Control alerts, also you will also disable Internet Explorer’s security “protected mode.”
If you are fine with that, you can turn the Account Controls off by opening User Accounts which is in the Control Panel and select the last option in the main window.
Customize your Taskbar and Start Menu

- Right-click on the start menu icon, then find its Properties window.
- Click on the Start option and the Customize button to find the options for tweaking the main menu.
- Select the Run command , select the default browser and e-mail clients you want, and remove unwanted elements from the menu.
- Select the Taskbar tab in Properties then click the bottom link to get help with customizing the taskbar and links to those options.
Changing Windows Vista Backgrounds

- Right click the Desktop then select the option Personalize
- Click the option Desktop Background
- Pick a desktop background from options given or click Browse and select one of your own
- Then Click OK
